In the most remote and isolated Nepal there is still a mala chauvinist tradition. Women, when they have the period, are separated from the community. They are considered impure. Even less can they climb a mountain, the gods could get angry. To help draw attention to this injustice, Edurne Pasaban joins an expedition in which five young girls from the region intend to climb the sacred mountain Saipal, an icy mountain that dominates the entire area. Edurne brings her experience as a climber and her vision, open and positive, of femininity. Together, they will open a window of change and hope for the women of the Himalayas.
